CFP: DEADLINE EXTENDED: Mid-Atlantic Writing Centers Association 2026

Hello everyone,
The deadline to submit a proposal for the 2026 Mid-Atlantic Writing Centers Association conference has been extended to Sunday, January 11.
The Mid-Atlantic Writing Centers Association invites you to submit proposals for the 2026 conference "Cities" that Write: Place, Space, and Writing Center Geography in Baltimore, MD March 27-28(CFP flyer attached).
Our 2026 theme invites us to reflect on the constructions of place, space, and geography, and to consider the interwoven dynamic between writing centers and their locational positionality. How does where we are shape what we do? What does it mean to write with a city, not just in it?
This year’s keynote address will be delivered by Dr. Rachel Azima, Professor of Practice and Writing Center Director at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Dr. Azima’s work has appeared in Praxis: A Writing Center Journal, The Writing Center Journal, and other leading venues in the field.
We are also thrilled to feature a Friday workshop led by Lena Tashjian, founder and Director of the Baltimore City College Writing Center, whose work is grounded in a deep commitment to social justice and a belief in education’s power to transform and transcend.
We look forward to reading your proposals and to seeing you in Baltimore! Please submit a proposal here.
Thank you,
Carmen Meza, Ph.D.
