Event: Second Announcement of “Reflecting on the past and shaping the direction of our futures”

Reflecting on the past and shaping the direction of our futures

Writing Studies faculty at all career stages are invited to join us on Tuesday, January 13, at 3:00 pm Eastern for an SGSLR virtual conversation with
John Duffy of the University of Notre Dame.

John will discuss his work directing the Inspired Leadership Initiative (ILI) program, which involves a cohort of 12-15 post-career professionals who spend an academic year in South Bend exploring ways they can “reflect on the past and shape the direction of their future.” The program engages participants in seminars, deep reading, retreats, and writing to examine their lives. John will describe the program and reflect on what he is learning from his work.

This virtual conversation about the Inspired Leadership Initiative is the first event in the CCCC Standing Group for Senior, Late Career, and Retired Scholars in Rhetoric and Writing Studies’ 2025-26 series of conversations on Practicing Generosity, Kindness, and Hope, which will culminate in the SGSLR-sponsored session at CCCC: “Old Friends and New Ideas, New Friends and Old Ideas: Practicing Rhetorics and Literacies of Generosity, Kindness, and Hope in Intergenerational Conversations”

Participants in this conversation mustregister in advance to receive the zoom link for the meeting. Use this link to register to attend this conversation: https://asu.zoom.us/meeting/register/3w0F4397TwCUkEeDZFW79Q
