Apply: NEWCA Committee Openings – Tutor Rep and Media Coordinator

Hello all,

NEWCA has three open positions on our Steering Committee – the Peer Tutor Representative, the Social Media Relations Coordinator, and a General Sitting Member. Descriptions of the first two positions can be found below. If you or other members of your Writing Center are interested in sharing your ideas and opinions with the steering committee, designing events and resources to support the region, and contributing to our 2027 conference planning and design, lwidman.

Peer Tutor Rep: Undergraduate and/or Graduate Peer Tutor working in a Writing Center in the Northeast. We are especially interested in peer tutors who would like to engage other peer tutors in events and programming through NEWCA. This has a low-time commitment of 2-5 hours/month (including attending regular steering committee meetings), and the choice to serve for 1-2 years, depending on your capacity and interest.
WC directors and coordinators – please share this opportunity with your tutors! Here is an email template attached for your convenience, feel free to customize it to best suit your tutors.

Social Media Coordinator/Web Manager: We are looking for individuals interested in the maintenance, design, and promotion of digital communication for NEWCA, including but not limited to our website, conference and event promotion, and social media accounts.
