Dear Faculty and Advisors,
We’re excited to invite you to encourage your students to serve as peer reviewers for Young Scholars in Writing (YSW), a national journal showcasing undergraduate research in writing studies. This is an excellent opportunity for students to deepen their editorial, analytical, and critical‑thinking skills while contributing to the scholarly community.
About the Peer Reviewer Role
Student reviewers help evaluate submissions from undergraduates across the world, offering thoughtful feedback and determining whether pieces meet YSW’s publication standards. Participating in this process provides students with valuable, hands on experience in research, writing, and academic publishing.
Who We’re Looking For
We welcome applications from undergraduates who are curious about writing and rhetoric and eager to engage with scholarly work. Ideal reviewers will have:
- An interest in writing studies
- A strong attention to detail
- The ability to read and respond critically and constructively
- English and/or Spanish language skills are both welcome
Attached are flyers in English and Spanish for you to share with your students (direct link to the Application form can be found here: https://shorturl.at/Cv8Ef) We would be grateful if you could pass this opportunity along to your students who might be interested in the peer‑review role.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.
Warm regards,
Bonnie Garcia & Crystal Bazaldua
