Hi, all. Although our study is focused on communication center training for consultants working with students experiencing public speaking anxiety, we know many writing centers work with speakers too and want to extend our invitation to WCenter for that reason. Please see our call for participants below:
Dakota Horn at Bradley University and Stephen Keating at SUNY Fashion Institute of Technology are inviting you and your fellow Communication Center Tutors to participate in a research study titled “Perceptions of Public Speaking Anxiety in Communication Center Tutoring.” The purpose of this study is to better understand how communication center consultants perceive public speaking anxiety training and its definition. Participation involves completing a brief, anonymous online survey that includes open-ended questions about your experiences with public speaking anxiety. The survey should take no more than 10 minutes to complete.
To participate, you must have worked as a communication center consultant or tutor within the last ten years.
Your responses will remain completely anonymous—no identifying information or IP addresses will be collected. Participation is entirely voluntary, and you may skip any question you prefer not to answer. There are no known risks or direct benefits associated with this study.
