Event: Online Critical Language Awareness (CLA) events this summer!

Dear WAC colleagues,

It was great having the chance to meet/learn from some of you (virtually) at IWAC last week!

I wanted to share the information below, in case you’d like to learn more about Critical Language Awareness (CLA).

There will be additional events in August and September, including conversations about CLA in relation to writing center work, and an opportunity to workshop an assignment to bring it into alignment with CLA goals and principles.

To be informed directly of these events, please join the CLA Collective email list.

Hi all,

Hope you’re having a good start to the summer!

We have some spots open in a CLA Salon I’m hosting this Friday at 3pm ET with Joseph Salvatore (New School) on CLA and Creative Writing.

I thought I’d share it with you, since I’ve been noticing more scholarly discussion of creative writing and L2 writers in recent years.

To sign up for the Salon and to receive the Zoom link, please fill out this form.
You’ll see that there are 2 other Salons scheduled in July, too:

  1. Wed 7/12, 3pm ET: CLA and Writing Curricula/Program Revisions
  2. Wed 7/26, 3pm ET: CLA and English for Academic Purposes (EAP) for ML writers

And if you’d like to be informed directly of future CLA-related events and opportunities, please join my CLA Collective email list.

Thanks!
