The English Department at Midlands Technical College is reopening a search for a full-time faculty member with specializations in Writing Studies, Composition and Rhetoric, or Technical and Professional Communication. The position is part of an ad that lists two vacancies, one of which has already been filled. The department is very collegial, with a strong focus on doing what’s best for our students. We hold a yearly conference celebrating student work at all course levels, including everything from traditional posters to videos and posters. We are in our four year of Guided Pathways, which has led to two new majors (English and Writing) and increased opportunities for program development.
