Job: Academic Support Coordinator for the Vanderbilt Writing Studio

The Vanderbilt University Writing Studio and Tutoring Services office is accepting applications for an Academic Support Coordinator position. Please share with anyone you believe may be interested.

This is a full-time, in-person, 12-month staff position at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN, that reports to the Director of the Writing Studio and Tutoring Services. The role’s responsibilities include serving as a professional writing tutor/consultant, leading a variety of writing workshops, and coordinating a weekly writing group program and three annual Dissertation Writers Retreats, and acting Writing Studio liaison to campus partners such as the Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Academic Support (GPAS), Residential Colleges, and the Office of Experiential Learning and Immersion Vanderbilt. In addition to regular collaboration with fellow team members, the position works closely with Vanderbilt students, campus partners, and faculty.

A Ph.D. in a relevant discipline from an accredited institution of higher education is preferred. Strong applicants will also have experience tutoring writing in a writing center or other similar context, experience supporting Writing across the Curriculum or Writing in the Disciplines initiatives, familiarity with writing center theory and practice, as well as familiarity with inclusive teaching and tutoring practices.

We are seeking candidates available to start in July or August. The exact start date is negotiable.
