Hello colleagues,
Time is running out to register for the upcoming conference at the early bird rate! Register now to attend TYCA MW in person or virtually at Schoolcraft College in Metro Detroit! We offer in-person and virtual options with sliding scales for our part-time and/or high school colleagues.
This year’s conference schedule takes up some of the most pressing issues we are discussing in our field: AI & Writing, diversity and inclusion, and teacher burnout.
Some highlights of the conference agenda include:
- Keynote address on Literacy, Inclusion, and Identity by Dr. Ebony Elizabeth Thomas, with Brynne Barnes, facilitator
- Plenary on AI and the Writing Classroom with Sarah Z Johnson, MLA-CCCC Joint Task Force member on Writing and AI.
- Interactive–and practical–workshops and round table discussions facilitate the development of your classroom implementation of best AI practices.
- Additional panels take up multiple aspects of corequisite teaching following state mandates across the Midwest, including placement, assessment, and reading instruction.
- Strands for teacher well-being, engagement, and the management of burnout.
