The English Department at the University of Washington Seattle invites applications for an Assistant Teaching Professor position in the Program for Writing Across Campus, with affiliation with the Program in Writing and Rhetoric. This position will have an anticipated start date of September 2025, and is a full-time, 9-month, 3-year renewable (promotion eligible but not tenure-track) position. (Renewal length increases with promotion.) The position, situated within a vibrant community of language and writing scholars, involves teaching 5 courses per year of discipline-linked writing (as well as optional opportunities to teach other courses in the department), and offers a wide variety of opportunities for service, program administration and development, student mentorship, and the formation of campus/community partnerships. We are looking for a colleague who has a background in Writing Studies to teach discipline-linked courses in the social sciences. This person will also play a key role in program building and teacher development initiatives, particularly by expanding socially just, inclusive, and accessible teaching.
