The Association for Writing Across the Curriculum (AWAC) Mentoring Committee is delighted to host Laurie Pinkert and Ming Fang for a virtual workshop: “Maintaining Inclusivity in WAC: Conversations and Strategies Amid Legal and Legislative Challenges to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Efforts.”
This workshop will explore how the WAC programs at University of Central Florida and Florida International University are responding to recent legislative challenges to DEI efforts in Florida. The speakers will discuss both large-scale programming and smaller steps to support faculty and students, emphasizing strategies for fostering inclusivity and academic excellence. The ideas presented will offer adaptable approaches for other institutions to support student success and diversity in various context
