We invite you all to listen and subscribe to our podcast series from the Howe Center for Writing Excellence (HCWE) at Miami University of Ohio, “This is Howe We Do It.”
Our podcast invites teachers and students as guests to engage in insightful conversations about writing and the teaching of writing. Each episode explores a different genre of writing or topic surrounding the writing process; from ePortfolios to the intersection of generative AI and writing, the podcast taps into the experiences and perspectives of writers and teachers as they reflect on their own processes and ideas.
Recent episodes of the podcast have engaged with conversations on AI tools and their implications on writing, showcasing both student and faculty perspectives on this topic. In our most recent episodes, Rena explores"
- AI tools with a communication design scholar teaching an AI-focused course at Miami,
- then with three undergraduate writing center consultants who had researched AI and how it impacts writing centers, and
- with rhetoric and composition scholar Dustin Edwards, ahead of his forthcoming book, on the layers of digital damage caused by AI and other digital infrastructures.
