Event: SIG: Postdocs and Postdoc Program WPAs

In recent years, there’s been a noticeable growth in programs offering postdoctoral teaching fellow positions in writing and rhetoric. Ever wonder what the difference is between a postdoc and a visiting lecturer position? So do we!

That’s why we—Melissa Ianetta and Michael McCamley (Professor and Director of First-Year Writing at the University of Delaware)—are convening a Special Interest Group focused on and for Writing Program Postdocs at Cs this week!

At this meeting, we’ll discuss how postdocs are currently supported in our programs, share both challenges and successes, and explore how we might work together to enhance the postdoc experience across institutions.

If you’re a postdoc or lead in a program that employs postdocs, we’d love for you to join us:

Friday, April 11
3:30–4:30 PM
Room 310, Baltimore Convention Center (Level 300)

Let’s start the conversation and build a community of support for writing program postdocs.

Melissa

PS: If you’d like to hear about (I think?) the oldest and largest teaching postdoctoral fellowship in the country, please join me and my colleagues on Friday at 12:30 for Preparing for Today’s Tomorrow, Systematic Professional Development for Recent PhDs (Meeting Room 302, Baltimore Convention Center, Room 300) 🙂
