Open writing center leadership job! Valencia is a multi-campus community college in Orlando, Florida. This role provides leadership to the writing center at the Lake Nona Campus tutoring center. The writing center supervisor hires, trains, and schedules writing tutors, in addition to providing ongoing development opportunities to tutors; provides tutoring support to students; promotes writing center services to LNC students and faculty and organizes outreach; approves timesheets for payroll processing and tracks tutoring hours/budget expenditure; collaborates with learning support colleagues, faculty, managers, and others; advocates for diversity in tutoring pedagogy and practice; along with other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution related to the fields of English, Composition, Communications, Rhetoric, and/or Instructional Design
- Tutoring, learning support, or teaching experience
- Supervisory experience
