Hello wonderful instructors! Happy end-of quarter to all who celebrate!
We are excited to share with you our Call for Proposals for the upcoming TYCA-PNW Conference taking place on October 17-18, 2025 in beautiful Pasco, WA! We hope you can join us and that you might consider presenting some of the excellent work you are already doing in your classrooms.
Our goal with this conference is to create a space where the joys of teaching composition are celebrated, even amid the stresses of the profession. Together, we’ll explore how to uphold the values of equity, critical thinking, and open dialogue in our classrooms. By balancing positivity with purpose, we’ll reaffirm the vital role of composition in shaping a more thoughtful, just, and empathetic society.
Columbia Basin College will be hosting the conference this year! We are conveniently located next to the Pasco airport and have three hotels in walking distance of the campus, airport, and local eateries. The area is surrounded by three beautiful rivers and is home to many wineries, breweries, and fun local attractions.
Attached is a PDF of our CFP (how many acronyms can we put in one sentence?). Please share widely with anyone you think might be interested in either participating as a presenter or joining us as an attendee. We will be opening registration to attend the conference as a non-presenter in August, so keep an eye out for that opportunity as well.
