Dear colleagues,
We invite submissions for the upcoming conference Artificial Influence and the Engineering of Mass Persuasion, co-hosted by the Center for Science, Technology, and Society (CSTS), the Kummer Institute Center for AI and Autonomous Systems (KICAIAS), and Miner AI.
This interdisciplinary event explores how AI is reshaping persuasive communication—through large language models, algorithmic nudging, synthetic propaganda, and other emerging technologies. Of special interest to technical and professional communication scholars are topics including:
- Automated persuasion and rhetorical agency
- Ethical design of AI-driven communication systems
- Cognitive sovereignty and informed consent
- Historical continuities from traditional rhetoric to algorithmic influence
- Dark patterns, behavioral design, and technical documentation
We welcome single paper proposals (250–500 words) or full panel submissions (up to 4 participants). The CFP is attached, please submit via this form by August 6, 2025.
Keynote speakers will be announced soon. If you have any questions, you can reach out to me or contact Dr. Kathleen Sheppard (SheppardKa), Dr. Don Wunsch (DWunsch), or Dr. Jonathan Kimball (KimballJW).
Take care,
|
