📢 Call for Papers – Special Issue of Information Design Journal (IDJ)
Theme: Cultural Turns in Information Design

We’re excited to invite submissions for a forthcoming special issue of the Information Design Journal, focusing on “Cultural Turns in Information Design.”

This issue explores how cultural contexts, values, and knowledge systems shape how people interpret and interact with information. We welcome work that challenges universalist assumptions in design and highlights culturally grounded, inclusive, and reflexive practices.

🖥️ Online First Publication: From November 2025
📖 Print Publication: Early 2026

🔍 Topics may include (but are not limited to):
• Cross-cultural usability and information perception
• Indigenous knowledge and local epistemologies in design
• Culturally adaptive interaction and UX design
• Visual storytelling and narrative across cultures
• Ethical considerations and power dynamics in design
• Theoretical frameworks for cultural perspectives in information design

✍️ Submission Formats:
From full-length papers (7,000–10,000 words) to short papers, reflective essays, and interviews.
