Elected leaders play an important role in guiding the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE). Serving in an elected leadership role with NCTE is a meaningful way to grow as a leader, advance your career, and contribute your time and expertise to support educators in your community and nationwide.
NCTE is therefore pleased to announce that we are now accepting nominations for 2026 elected leadership positions across many levels of responsibility. All NCTE members are encouraged to nominate themselves or a colleague who may be interested in one of the positions listed below.
Elected leaders have the opportunity to:
- Help address the education needs of students and literacy instructors across the country
- Collaborate with English language arts educators and leaders to shape the future of the discipline
- Gain leadership experience that can enhance their strengths and increase their access to member leaders nationwide
- Give back to our community and increase our impact
If you’ve been thinking about getting more involved with NCTE, there’s never been a better time. Complete the 2026 elections nomination form by November 15, 2025, to nominate yourself or a colleague who can make valuable contributions to one of these open positions.
