Survey: AI training and writing consultant’s overall outlook on their peer tutorials

Good Morning Listserv!: Please share this student-led project with your undergraduate peer writing tutors—this survey should take no longer than 15 minutes!

Dear Peer Writing Tutors:

You are invited to participate in an IRB-approved research study (IRB-FY26-285) designed to evaluate how AI training influences writing consultant’s overall outlook on their peer tutorials. Your reflections and insight will help to contribute to ongoing work in the field to grapple with and adapt to Gen AI in the tutoring landscape.

Who can participate?

We are seeking current undergraduate writing tutors over the age of 18 working in a writing center at a 4-year college.

What does participation involve?

To participate, you will take an anonymous online survey that will take approximately 10-15 minutes. The survey covers questions about your experiences as a peer tutor in relation to training you have received on GenAI as a peer writing tutor, and the influence of GenAI training on your overall outlook on peer tutorials. No personally identifiable information will be collected, and participation is voluntary. There is no compensation for participating, and there are no known risks associated with this study.
