Dear Writing Center Tutors and Consultants,
Join us on Wednesday, December 10 at 3 PM CST (4 PM EST / 1 PM PST) for our fourth Tutor Talks session of the 2025-26 year: Burnout, Self-Care, and Emotional Labor.
This time of year can be an overwhelming time with finals, deadlines, holidays—all on top of your regular tutoring responsibilities. The work we do as tutors is so important and rewarding, and it can be easy to forget to take care of ourselves. During a time when our schedules are probably overloaded, this session is a place to reprioritize tutor well-being. Whether you’re looking for practical strategies or just needing space to decompress with people who “get it,” we invite you to attend exactly as you are.
Tutor Talks is a tutor-focused forum (“for tutors, by tutors”) of virtual professional development sessions for writing center tutors. The aim of the sessions is to create an open discussion for tutors to support and learn from one another.
Writing tutors and consultants from all over (not just the SCWCA region!) are welcome. Directors/administrators, because these sessions are tutor-focused, we ask that you not attend them yourselves. However, please share with your tutors and encourage them to take advantage of these fun and informative opportunities to learn and connect! Also note that, to ensure a safe and comfortable space for all, sessions will not be recorded.
Tutors: Please RSVP through this Google Form. The Zoom room will be sent out on the day of the session. (Please check your spam folder if you do not receive the link.)
Sincerely,
Tutor Talks Executive Committee
