Summary:

The Department of English at North Carolina State University is seeking applications for a full-time, tenure-track assistant professor position in Technical and Professional Communication. The Department of English at North Carolina State University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track assistant professor position in Technical and Professional Communication, with teaching and research expertise related to industry practices and the technological standards that are demanded of our graduates. Candidates with experience in structured authoring (e.g., DITA, XML), information architecture methodologies, data visualization, or web analytics are especially encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate would be able to provide instruction on technical communication practices and situate those practices within contemporary technical communication scholarship.

The position has a 2:2 teaching load, primarily serving graduate students in the Master of Science in Technical Communication program, doctoral students in the Communication, Rhetoric, and Digital Media PhD program, and undergraduates in the Rhetoric and Professional Writing concentration of the English major. The successful candidate would be expected to contribute to the teaching and advising missions of each program.
