Greetings, colleagues,
I’m delighted to announce that Stetson University is seeking a new or newish PhD (ABD welcome to apply!) to join the leadership at the Stetson University Writing Center as a Brown Visiting Teacher-Scholar Fellow. These niche positions are designed to support a new PhD in their career: a reduced teaching load and opportunities to work on research, develop courses, and in general make themselves a far stronger candidate for the job market.
We’re looking for the right person to serve a 2-year (with potential renewal) contract as assistant director with a 2/2 teaching load in the English Department. The right person will have experience in Writing Centers and the associated training and mentoring of tutors, with interests in DEI, students speaking multiple languages, GenAI, and information literacy. This is a terrific opportunity for a new PhD hoping for some solid, grounded, supported mentoring in the center’s operations, hands-on work. Our Writing Center is large, vibrant, engaged, and active! And we have a very strong track record with these positions: each of the Brown Fellows we’ve hired has gone on to a TT position in the field.
Here’s the link to the position: https://www.stetson.edu/administration/human-resources/media/bvts-writing-center-position-description-spring-2026-updated.pdf
Feel free to email me for additional details.
Thanks,
Megan
