Survey: Collaborative Practices of WPAs

My name is Chloe Crull, and I am a doctoral candidate studying Writing, Rhetoric ,and Composition Studies at the University of California, Davis. I am conducting an IRB-approved research study that investigates how WPA collaborations are enacted through specific strategies, roles, and mediating tools, and how these practices are shaped (and sometimes constrained) by institutional histories, rules, and divisions of labor. This framework helps explain not just whether collaborations happen, but how they unfold, and why some succeed while others falter.

I am especially seeking colleagues who direct or work within Writing Across the Curriculum programs and Writing Centers. To participate, please complete a brief 5-minute multiple-choice survey. At the end of the survey, you will have the option to indicate your interest in an optional 60-minute Zoom interview. In the interview, I will ask you questions about collaborations you have completed (collaborations within your unit and with other units across campus are both applicable).

Individuals who complete both the multiple-choice survey and the optional follow-up interview will be compensated with a $20.00 Amazon gift card for their participation, which will be sent via email within ~4 weeks after the interview, in appreciation for your time.

Thank you very much for taking the time to read this information and consider participating in the research study. Please email me at cvcrull or my advisor, Tricia Serviss, at pcserviss if you have any questions.

Much appreciation and many thanks,

Chloe Crull
