CFP: Rhetoric Special Interest Group Panel at the 2026 ABC Conference

The Rhetoric Special Interest Group of the Association for Business Communication (ABC) is organizing an in-person panel focused on the ways workplace and organizational rhetoric impacts communities. Business communication is often designed to influence and persuade groups to make decisions and take action. Corporate rhetoric impacts employees, shareholders, customers, other businesses, and communities connected to these organizations. The Rhetoric SIG wants to bring together your research in a panel where we can explore how business communication makes, shapes, and deconstructs community.

We encourage members or prospective members of the Association for Business Communication with scholarly interests in rhetoric to submit their ideas for presentations that could be part of a 4 to 7 person panel at the 2026 Association for Business Communication conference in Baltimore, Maryland, on October 14-17. Ideas may be related to any aspect of professional communication as examined through a rhetorical lens.

To submit an idea, please complete this form with your contact information and a <300-word description of your proposed presentation no later than March 12, 2026. Full link to form: https://forms.gle/Pz3qWvfTJSWcjhrZ8

Questions should be sent to the Rhetoric Special Interest Group (SIG) co-coordinators: Michelle Cowan (mcowan) and Samantha Dine (dinesa).
