Dear colleagues,
I’m writing to invite you to consider submitting a proposal to the 2027 Conference on College Composition and Communication (CCCC).
The conference theme, Design Writing Futures, invites scholars, teachers, and practitioners to explore how writing, rhetoric, and design practices shape the futures we imagine, build, and inhabit. This theme encourages conversations about how writing and design work together to address emerging challenges in our field and beyond—from multimodal composing and technical communication to community-engaged scholarship, justice-oriented design, and the infrastructures that support writing. I hope the theme opens space for a wide range of approaches, perspectives, and methods. You can check out the full CFP here:

- Proposal database opens: Late March 2026
- Proposal coach request deadline: 9:00 a.m. ET, Tuesday, April 14, 2026
- Volunteer to review proposals or serve as a proposal coach: May 11, 2026
- Proposal submission deadline: 9:00 a.m. ET, Wednesday, May 27, 2026
- Proposal notifications: Early September 2026
- Session schedule notifications: October 2026
The 2027 CCCC Convention will take place April 14–17, 2027 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and I would be delighted to see tech comm represented in the program.
