CFP: Call for Panel Ideas — Writing & STEM (CCCC 2027)

Panels for CCCC 2027: It’s time to propose Writing and STEM standing group
panels for our CCCC 2027 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin from April 14–17. We’ve
put together a brief survey to plan for next year. Specifically, the survey
asks about your interests in participating in group-supported panels based
on themes in the topics we discussed during our March business meeting. If
you would like to participate in a supportive submission process
coordinated around these identified themes, please complete the survey
by Friday,
April 17. The survey is available at:
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1IVBqmzI1qW37b6Yi2K8gQT3FvMuKI1DDvty5bm_Rvx4/edit

Ideas and descriptions do not need to be fully formed at this time. We
don’t need full abstracts yet; we just need enough information to begin
sorting people into panels. After you’ve expressed interest via the survey,
we encourage you to start brainstorming and writing 100-200 word summaries
of your presentation ideas so that you’re ready to contribute to your panel
or workshop group.

We’ll proceed with panel/workshop formation, proposal drafting, and
revision/submission according to the following timeline:

Complete survey: April 17, 2026

Groups are formed and contacted: April 21, 2026

Proposal drafts due: May 5, 2026 at (For panels that have an interest in
getting feedback on their drafts and in being considered for the Sponsored
Panel)

Proposal Feedback: May 13

CCCC Submission deadline: 9:00 a.m. EST on Wednesday, May 27, 2026

Because Writing and STEM is a standing group, we are guaranteed one
sponsored panel at each CCCC. Over the past several years, many of the
other proposals developed as part of the standing group panel process have
been accepted as well.

Thank you for your interest and participation in the Writing and STEM
standing group at CCCC! For any further questions, or to be added to our
mailing list, you can contact Holly Gallagher, co-chair (hmgalla)
or Mike Zerbe, secretary (mzerbe).

Please distribute this invitation to others in your network for whom this
standing group and/or supportive submission process for CCCC 2027 would be
relevant.

Best regards,

Writing and STEM standing group committee
