Dear colleagues,
It was wonderful to connect with many of you at the recent ATTW conference and to learn from your thoughtful work on intercultural communication! My name is Meghalee Das, and I am an Assistant Professor in the School of Writing, Rhetoric and Technical Communication at James Madison University (JMU). I would like to invite you to participate in a study on intercultural learning outcomes and assessment practices in technical and professional communication (TPC) and related writing courses.
This IRB-approved study is partially funded by the Center for Global Engagement, JMU. The study examines how intercultural learning outcomes are currently assessed in undergraduate TPC and related writing programs and aims to inform the development of effective intercultural competence assessment practices.
I am specifically interested in hearing from instructors, program directors, and curriculum committee members in TPC and related writing fields with experience teaching, overseeing, or assessing undergraduate programs, courses, or assignments that include intercultural learning outcomes and activities.
Participation involves completing a 15-minute anonymous online survey. No identifiable information will be collected as part of the survey or reported in any publications or presentations.
Participants who complete the survey will have the option to provide a mailing address in a separate online form after submitting the survey to receive a $10 Visa gift card. This information will be collected separately from survey responses and will not be linked to participants’ answers. Gift cards will be mailed by JMU within approximately 4 weeks of survey completion.
If you would like to participate, please click on the survey link below and reviewthe consent page.
