NCPTW Call for Co-Treasurer Summer 2026, with transition to Treasurer in Winter 2027

The NCPTW Treasurer is responsible for maintaining and reporting the finances of NCPTW (the organization) to fulfill the mission to support peer writing tutors in attending the annual national conference. The Treasurer ensures that the Board is abreast of the finances of the organization and works closely with conference chairs to ensure that the annual conference can be supported by the organization’s funds and, ideally, earn a profit each year. The Treasurer manages all payments and deposits for the organization.

The Treasurer’s duties include:

  • Maintaining an updated organizational expense sheet that is reported annually at the conference;
  • Filing annual taxes for the organization;
  • Maintaining the organization’s non-profit status in the state of New Jersey (note that the Treasurer does not need to reside in NJ; instead we maintain a registered agent in NJ);
  • Ensuring that there is a registered agent in New Jersey
  • Liaising with Travel Awards Chair and distributing award checks & certificates to awardees
  • Liaising with Maxwell Award Chair and distributing award checks & plaques to awardees
  • Liaising with Conference Chair to fund, reimburse, and consult on conference related expenses.

NCPTW is looking for a co-Treasurer to apprentice the current Treasurer for the remainder of the 2026 fiscal year through the end of fiscal year 2027 (fiscal year is January 1 to December 31). The current treasurer is open to extending co-treasurership into fiscal year 2028, if the incoming Treasurer would like.

Serving as an NCPTW board member is mutually beneficial for the member, the field, and peer tutors. The NCPTW Treasurer works closely with the board and annual conference chair to expand professional networks through serice.The Treasurer role constitutes service to the field and is a meaningful contribution for the member’s promotion file and career trajectory. Finally, the Treasurer role contributes to the future of the organization in that it supports the mission of the organization to conduct an annual conference for peer writing tutors.

All NCPTW Board members are expected to attend NCPTW annually and will receive a waiver of annual conference registration as budget allows.

Applicants should send a cover letter that includes a statement of interest in the Treasurer role that specifies any relevant experience, along with an abbreviated c.v. Materials should be sent to andrea.efthymiou by June 1, 2026.
