It’s a lovely day to launch a new open textbook, and I am so very excited to finally release Open Professional and Technical Editing with Handbook, filling an essential OER gap for our field. A low-cost print edition will also be available in the coming days (it’s currently being processed via Amazon KDP).
Developed through a year-long, multi-class open pedagogy project, Open PTE was developed largely by students for students. To learn more about the process, check out the "About This Book" section in the Front Matter.
I’m excited to pilot this book in my Editing for Usage and Style class this Fall, and would love to know if you decide to adopt as well. And, as with all of my OER projects, I’m happy to receive feedback or suggestions for improvement.
