Dear all,
I write to invite you to join the Discord server Alliance for Refusing Generative AI (ARG AI)! As our semesters begin, you may be looking for resources, pedagogical ideas, or community.
History: This Discord server was created in Fall 2024 as a space to examine what refusal may look like in writing studies, the humanities, and beyond. You do not need to explicitly "refuse" genAI; in the server; though, we ask that all engagement comes from a place of practicing refusal (see community guidelines 1 and 2). The server currently has over 430 members across the disciplines, including writing studies, library and information science, STEM, and more.
Access the server: In order to have full access to the server,
- Open the ARG AI Discord server invite
- Click "Accept the invite"
- Scroll to the top of the #community-guidelines channel
- Read through the community guidelines and fill out the Google form. There is a list of community guidelines we ask all members to follow to create an inclusive and careful space.
We hope to see you on the server!
