Hello Writing Center friends!
Another academic year is upon us, and the IWCA-GO (International Writing Center Association Graduate Organization) Board would like to invite any and all graduate students involved in writing center work to join our virtual Fall Kickoff Event on:
Thursday, September 3rd at 9am PST | 10am MST | 11am CST | 12pm EST.
At this casual event on Teams (click here for link), you’ll get to…
- Chat with other graduate students embarking on another year of writing center work
- Share goals you have for yourself and/or for your writing center
- Learn about what other writing centers are doing to kick off their fall terms!
The IWCA-GO Board will also be sharing information about our upcoming research project, where we hope to conduct semi-structured interviews with graduate students involved in writing center work to better understand the working conditions, cognitive and emotional labor, and lived experiences of graduate students like you. For now, if you’re interested in contributing to this project, please take this very quick Qualtrics Survey that asks about your roles, responsibilities, and experiences as a graduate student in your writing center.
In the meantime, we hope to see you on September 3rd to kick off another academic year! Feel free to share the attached flyer far and wide with anyone you think would be interested!
Best,
