Hello Writing Center friends

WLN: A Journal of Writing Center Scholarship is recruiting for a Co-Editor to join our collaborative team committed to supporting new and more experienced writing centers scholars and practitioners as they submit and revise their articles for publication. Co-Editor work will begin with orientation during the fall of 2026 under the guidance of the current co-editors. Typical time commitment is between 3-4 hours per week, though this varies/ ebbs and flows. This includes reading and responding to manuscripts; keeping up with email communication with authors, reviewers, and the WLN team; attending monthly WLN team meetings on Zoom; and completing occasional additional tasks as needed.
Editorial Duties:
● Correspond with authors and reviewers throughout the publication process
● Guide authors with feedback and coaching
● Ensure external anonymous peer review
● Deliberate with other co-editors on final acceptance for manuscripts
● Mentor external reviewers
● Collaborate with the editorial team to promote the visibility of the journal and other topics that come up occasionally (such as advertising new positions or initiatives)
Additional Duties/Expectations
● Keep accurate records to track where each submission is in the review process
● Check and respond to email regularly
● Complete some work over the summer
Minimum Qualifications:
● Understanding of the current landscape of writing center scholarship
● Some experience publishing in the writing center field and/or have held prior editorial positions
● Strong organizational and communication skills
