Dear colleagues,
I’m writing to share that the University of Washington Tacoma is hiring an Assistant Teaching Professor of Writing Studies.
Located in downtown Tacoma, just south of Seattle, UW Tacoma is a diverse, urban-serving campus committed to access, community engagement, and innovative teaching. Our Department of Culture, Arts, and Communication is looking for a colleague who is passionate about teaching writing and working closely with students from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences.
Candidates should hold an MA, PhD, or equivalent degree in Composition/Rhetoric or a related field and have experience teaching college-level writing. This could be an excellent opportunity for recent PhD graduates, teaching-focused faculty, or writing studies scholars seeking a position at a mission-driven public university.
Applications received by October 15, 2026, will receive first consideration.
