GSOLE has created a new appointed position, the GSOLE Archivist. As you can see from the position description below, we have generated a lot of material that we want to start organizing for future use. If you have a background in archival methods or are interested in learning more about archival methods, we hope that you will consider this position. Likewise, send this to any friends or colleagues who have these expertise.

If you are interested in being the GSOLE Archivist, please send your CV and brief letter of interest to me (president). Your materials will be reviewed and decided upon by the GSOLE Steering Committee. If there are multiple submissions from qualified individuals, we will consider spreading the work around and creating an Archival Team.

Position Description

As an organization that operates predominantly virtually, GSOLE has generated a lot of online artifacts associated with its daily operations, and the resources it provides on the Online Literacy Educator community (e.g., conference, webinars, publications, certification course). As a result, we are looking for a head archivist who will take on the following responsibilities…

  • Recruit members of Archive Committee
  • Create a proposal for organizing, displaying, retrieving and sunsetting existing GSOLE artifacts
  • Collaborate with leadership on formalized policy and procedure for the on-going creation, display, and retrieval of future artifacts
  • Work with the Content Curator on design and retrieval of artifacts from the GSOLE website
  • Make videos of presenters’ sessions available during the GSOLE conference
  • Coordinate with presenters featured in videos on the long-term storage of GSOLE conference session and webinar videos
  • Attend Executive Board meetings (monthly)
