You are invited to join the [former CCCC] Standing Group for Senior, Late-Career, and Retired Professionals in Rhetoric and Writing Studies (SGSLR) for our initial Wayfinding Session on Monday, October 5, 2026, at 2:00 pm Eastern.
Following the recent de-charting of CCCC by NCTE, we will gather virtually to discuss our collective and individual roles in the possible futures of our profession.

Session Agenda
- Mission Statement Reading: Reaffirming our dedication to senior, late-career, and retired professionals. We aim to encourage cross-generational collaboration—with graduate, emerging, mid-career, and contingent scholars—to establish mutual support systems, reciprocal mentoring, and social justice.
- Solidarity Statement Reading: Reiterating our August 13, 2026 commitments. We view our field as a lifespan intellectual community where knowledge, memory, and care must circulate across generations for everyone to flourish.
- Open Discussion & Next Steps: Exploring collective preservation of our past and envisioning of possible futures.
