The RHM Society Executive Committee is happy to announce the call for proposals for the 2027 Rhetoric of Health and Medicine Symposium (RHM), Returning Home: Institutionality and Identity in RHM, taking place October 18–19, 2027, at the University of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, Ohio.
This year, we’re introducing two new submission categories in addition to the amazing categories that make the symposium so exciting:
- Writing Studies lightning talks: 5–7-minute presentations exploring the intersections of RHM and Writing Studies.
- Advanced career scholars’ panels: 60-minute panels featuring current research by scholars who identify as mid- to late-career.
Proposals are due March 12, 2027. Please see the attached CFP or Google Doc for the full range of session types and submission instructions, and feel free to share it with interested colleagues and students. Also, check out the CFP on our newly updated society website: https://rhmsociety.org/index.php/bi-annual-symposium/
If you have any questions, please contact me, Justiss Wilder Burry, at burryjw. We look forward to your proposals!
