Job: Two Instructor Positions at the University of North Florida

The Department of English and World Languages at the University of North Florida (UNF) is seeking applications for a non-tenure earning Instructor to begin on August 8 2027. The ideal candidate should have teaching and professional expertise in professional communication, technical writing, and writing studies. Significant factors for consideration will include demonstrated excellence in teaching and experience in writing across the curriculum. Additional factors include experience in coordinating internships and community outreach. Once hired, the Instructor will teach four undergraduate courses per semester, or equivalent, plus service commensurate with the position.
The UNF Department of English and World Languages strongly values internship, student success, digital humanities, writing across the curriculum and writing in the disciplines. At UNF, the Department of English and World Languages prepares students to do exactly that. Across creative writing, literature, film, digital humanities, professional writing, and theater, students develop their voice alongside faculty who are working writers, scholars, and artists invested in where they are headed.
To apply, please submit your CV, cover letter, two syllabi (one must be tech writing or professional communication), and your teaching statement in the application portal. Portal link: https://unf.wd5.myworkdayjobs.com/en-US/unfjobs/details/Instructor_JR103732

I’m happy to address questions off-list. Please feel free to reach out (and apologies for the cross postings)! I’ll also add a few notes here. UNF is located about 10 miles (or roughly 15 minutes) from the beach, has an active union presence (United Faculty of Florida), and includes many interdisciplinary opportunities (such as through the Institute for Environment Research and Education and the Digital Humanities Institute). The city of Jacksonville also has an international airport, close proximity to many state and national parks, and several museums that collaborate with the university.

Best regards,
Kailan
