Within the University of California, Teaching Professors have full tenure and Senate rights. The Teaching Professor series prioritizes teaching and also values professional achievement and activity. In the Writing Program, Advanced Assistant and Associate Teaching Professors typically teach six courses. Release time is granted for significant service opportunities and obligations, including administering the Writing Program.
