CFP: TETYC Special Issue Invite

Happy Tuesday!

For those working in alternative assessment and developing/maintaining relationships with two-year colleges, this would be a great opportunity for graduate students and lecturers. Please reach out directly to the editors, noting the 9/8 deadline.

Thanks,
Dev

The land on which we gather is the unceded territory of the Awaswas-speaking Uypi Tribe. The Amah Mutsun Tribal Band, comprised of the descendants of indigenous people taken to missions Santa Cruz and San Juan Bautista during Spanish colonization of the Central Coast, is today working hard to restore traditional stewardship practices on these lands and heal from historical trauma.

I’m working on a special issue of TETYC and we have some room for another Instructional Note (or article). See below. In terms of contributors, we have folks from both coasts, the South and Midwest, but nothing from the Southwest. Since you were in AZ, do you know of any two-year folks in the area using an alternative assessment system who might be interested in writing a note? Or a two-year colleague elsewhere? We’re open to all regions. Good is good. If so please feel free to share the following with them. Below you’ll find the CFP and details on Instructional Notes.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,

Chad

We are writing as guest editors of the TETYC special issue on contract grading and other forms of alternative classroom assessment. We are reaching out to you because we have had some last-minute changes in the issue and have room for another piece. We’re specifically looking for 1,000-2,000 word instructional notes, which are basically “how to” process narratives that give authors a chance to share the behind-the-scenes of creating equitable classroom practices.

If this sounds like something you’re interested in, please let us know by Friday, September 8th. We’re also happy to meet with you to discuss any questions you might have. And if you know of any other two-year college faculty that might be interested, please share their contact info with us and we’ll reach out.

Thanks for your consideration and happy fall,
