Survey: New research study on AI and teacher labor

Dear colleagues,

We hope you’ve been having a relatively stress-free and successful fall term so far. We write to invite you to participate in a research study focused on teacher labor in the context of generative artificial intelligence and large language models like ChatGPT.

Artificial intelligence language models and the recent proliferation of easily accessible AI platforms are already having a tremendous impact on writing professors and graduate students, writing center directors, and those who use writing as a primary means of evaluating student learning. Teachers need preparation for educating in this context. Therefore, we (Stacy Wittstock from the Univeristy of Nevada, Las Vegas and Amy Lynch-Biniek of Kutztown Univeristy of Pennsylvania) have developed a research project to study the impact this preparation is having on labor in higher education.

We invite you to participate in this IRB-approved study by clicking on the link below. The survey should take between 10-20 minutes to complete.

Best,

Stacy Wittstock
