Presenters: Dr. Jennifer Smith Daniel, Queens University of Charlotte, Director of the Writing Center and Writing Across the Curriculum Program, & Dr. Layli Miron, Auburn University, Associate Director of University Writing.

Abstract: The Southeastern Writing Center Association’s CARE (Center Acknowledgement and Recognition of Excellence) program offers the only certification developed by writing center professionals for writing centers. If you’re looking to engage your staff in meaningful reflection about your pedagogy, practices, mission, and values in ways that attend to your local contexts, CARE certification might be a good fit for your center. This workshop will cover how certification can be an asset to your center as well as how to compile and submit your application. Centers outside of the SWCA region are welcome!
