The TYCA DEI Committee needs your help! We are currently looking for two kinds of support:
1). We need new members! If you are interested in serving a 3-year term on the DEI Committee (with an approximate workload of 10 hours per year), please email me at bethany.sweeney. I am happy to set up a Zoom meeting to chat with you, to answer more questions over email, to direct you to colleagues who are serving or who have served on the committee, or to share more details about our work in whatever way is best for you.
2). We need information on DEI legislation in your state and how that legislation is impacting your teaching, your professional experience, your institution, etc. If you would be willing to share resources, links, or personal experiences, please also reach out to me at bethany.sweeney. We are hoping to compile this information over Fall 2024 so that we can use it to inform TYCA members and to strategize regarding next steps.
