We’re looking for a well-rounded composition specialist who is interested in a teaching-intensive position and who can help with teaching a variety of first-year composition and developmental writing courses.

Job Overview
The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College seeks applications for two (2) tenure-track Assistant Professor of English positions to teach composition in our growing department. The English and Communication Department is a collegial, supportive faculty that centers the student at the heart of our instruction. The composition program’s general pedagogical approach is rooted in process-based writing that is reflective and inquiry-driven.
Essential Functions
- Teaching 12 credit hours per semester in four sections of writing (a 4/4 load), including but not limited to co-requisite composition (Accelerated Learning Program), English Composition, Intermediate Composition, and Basic Writing.
- Participating in program assessment and curriculum development.
- Participating in department, college, and university service such as serving on the composition steering committee or the college technology committee.
- Engaging in professional and scholarly activities, such as presentations at scholarly venues, publication in relevant professional publications, publication of creative works, or other scholarly methods of disseminating knowledge.
Minimum Requirements
Prior to the effective date of the appointment, all of the following are required:
- A doctorate degree in English with specialization or focus in Rhetoric and Composition, or a closely related field.
- At least three (3) academic years of experience teaching composition at the college level.
