Volunteer: Seeking Student Peer Reviewers for Young Scholars in Writing (YSW)

Dear Faculty and Advisors,

We’re excited to invite your students to participate as peer reviewers for the Young Scholars in Writing (YSW), a journal dedicated to publishing undergraduate research in writing studies. This is a fantastic opportunity for your students to develop their editorial and critical thinking skills while contributing to the academic community!

Peer-Reviewer Role: As a peer reviewer for YSW, students will play an important role in the submission review process. Their task will be to assess whether a submission meets the criteria for publication in YSW. By serving as peer-reviewers, students will be actively engaged in the editing process while gaining rewarding experience in writing, research, and publishing!

Who Should Apply: We are looking for students with an interest in writing and rhetoric who would like to engage with the academic publication process. Candidates should have a critical eye for detail, a strong understanding of writing studies, and the ability to engage with scholarly work thoughtfully.
Please encourage your students to apply to serve as peer reviewers for YSW and gain valuable feedback skills in the process. Flyers in English and Spanish are attached for you to share with your students! Thank you for your support and for promoting this opportunity to your students. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at
