Hi everyone,
As CCCC 2025 approaches, the Feminist Caucus would like to invite you to join our workshop, "Can I Get a Beat? Or, Collaboration and Publication in the Field" on Wednesday, April 9. You can register for the workshop during the Cs registration process.
The workshop will feature conversation around collaborative and inclusive publishing. Today, I would like to introduce two of our featured speakers: Dr. Alexis McGee and Dr. Jason Tham, who will each share their experiences with publication. Here are their bios:
Dr. Alexis McGee is an interdisciplinary scholar engaging with various fields such as Rhetoric, Composition, Black Studies, Critical Pedagogies, Sound Studies, as well as Women and Gender Studies. Her concentrated research interests focus on Black women’s rhetorical uses of voice, literacies, and expression. Her book, From Blues to Beyoncé: A Century of Black Women’s Generational Sonic Rhetorics amplifies Black women’s public assertions of resistance, agency, and hope across different media from the nineteenth century to today.
Dr. Jason Tham is an associate professor of technical communication and rhetoric at Texas Tech University. He is author of Design Thinking in Technical Communication (2021) and co-author of Collaborative Writing Playbook (2021, with Joe Moses) and Writing to Learn in Teams (2023, with Joe Moses). His research interests include user experience (UX) design, digital rhetoric, and emerging technologies. He is editor of Computers and Composition: An International Journal.
Please feel free to share the attached flyers to help get the word out. We hope that you will join us in Baltimore!
Best,
Olivia
