Dear all,
The University of Pittsburgh’s Rhetoric Society of America chapter cordially invites submissions for our annual symposium taking place on Friday, March 27, 2026, with both in-person and select hybrid options available.
Titled “Moving the Unmoved: Rhetorical Imaginations as Engines for Change,” the symposium welcomes proposals that engage with notions of imagination and movement. Participants are invited to critically examine the role of rhetoric in forging new ways to imagine the self and the world, with the goal of shattering static dogmas and encouraging a world of contingency, ephemerality, invention, and motion.
Both graduate and undergraduate scholars whose work engages with diverse research methods and modalities may submit proposals of ~250 words by Saturday, February 28, 2026, via the Google Form linked here. Decisions will be sent out on a rolling basis.
Please see attached for the full CFP, and below, the full link to the Google Form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdr4X3-e__ofnvX8JAFzR6MVrhc7OGzkxwCP2574a8X03ifaQ/viewform?usp=header
If you have any questions, please reach out via email to the chapter’s co-presidents, Megan Simmermeyer (MES590) and Arie Likhtman (ABL114).
Sincerely,
Megan Simmermeyer (she/her)
