Survey: Existing state of and attitudes towards Study Abroad courses in TPW

Dear ATTW colleagues,

I am conducting a study about the existing state of and attitudes towards Study Abroad courses in technical and professional writing.

Procedure If you decide to participate, you will be asked to complete a brief survey. You will be asked questions about:

  • whether you studied abroad as a student,
  • if you currently (or formerly) lead/led a study abroad program,
  • if you are considering creating/leading a study abroad program, or
  • if are not interested in a study abroad course for your TPW courses at this time.

I am using the fieldwide survey as a sampling method/starting point to collect in-depth discussion points for this study. The main findings will come from the subsequent interviews. I am particularly interested learning more about affordances or barriers to study abroad creation.

The survey should take approximately 12 minutes of your time, with the option of participating in a 30-minute, one-on-one follow-up interview with the researcher about your experiences.

The survey is located here:

This study has been approved by Towson University #IRB: #2598 Study abroad offerings in technical communication/professional writing courses

Thanks for your time; you can email me with any questions.
