Survey: Locating Violence in Literacy: Rhetoric Informed by Bangladeshi Immigrant and International Students’ Mobility through Midwestern Metropolitan Universities

My name is Sujash Purna, a PhD candidate in the Department of English at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. As a former Bangladeshi international student and a scholar of immigration rhetoric, I am conducting a research project under my advisors Dr. Michael Bernard-Donals and Dr. Eileen Lagman. I will be collecting literacy narratives through 1 to 2 hours of interviews via Zoom and phone. The interview questions will be about your immigration journeys from Bangladesh to America as student visa holders and what literacies have been part of the journeys and how they shaped your identity. Participants will be given pseudonyms and coded confidentiality to minimize the risks of privacy breach. The recorded audio files will be kept in a secured server of the University of Wisconsin-Madison Google Drive. The transcripts will be shared only with the participants themselves.

Participants will not be remunerated.
