The English Department at Midlands Technical College is hiring a full-time faculty member for a generalist role. The department is very collegial, with a strong focus on doing what’s best for our students. We hold a yearly conference celebrating student work at all course levels, including everything from traditional posters to videos and posters. The most recent one was last Friday, and it was a wonderful experience. We are in our fifth year of Guided Pathways, which has led to two new concentrations (English and Writing) and increased opportunities for program development. Columbia is also a nice town, with multiple cultural opportunities, several other colleges and universities nearby, good Southern food, and generally pleasant (if sometimes hot) weather.
