Dear ATTW Community,
We (Consuelo Salas and Jacki Fiscus-Cannaday) write as co-chairs of the CCCC 2027 Feminist Workshop to invite you to submit a statement of interest for being a speaker for this year’s workshop: Joy and Resistance: The Futures of Joy and Kill-Joy Enactments. (Proposal in progress can be viewed here.)
Note that any participation as a presenter in the workshop can be done in addition to another speaking role, and you will have a guaranteed spot on the 2027 CCCCs program because the Feminist Workshop is a standing group sponsored workshop.
We are hoping for a 200-word statement of interest by Tuesday, May 20th in which you describe what your contribution might be as a presenter.
We would ask you to share your experiences and work in developing research, pedagogy, and/or community partnerships about feminisms and food rhetorics by participating in two of the three segments of the workshop, as outlined below.
The structure of the full-day workshop will be determined by the responses to this call, but we invite participants to propose a variety of interactive methods of engagement with these questions. You might invite participants to enact methods of joy (e.g. dance, singing, resting, crafting); you might workshop ways of taking up the “kill-joy” handbook in academic contexts; you might offer to lead a discussion about the questions this workshop hopes to answer; or you might ideate something interactive inspired from our call.
Thank you for your kind attention,
Consuelo Salas and Jacki Fiscus-Cannaday
